DERMAL ABSORPTION STUDIES
Exposure to many chemicals occurs mainly via contact with the skin. Dermal absorption studies are mandatory to assess the worker exposure.
Assessment of the absorption of various formulations following application to the skin can be conducted either with :
- In vitro models such as Franz cells (on animals and human skin), or
- Clinical studies on animals or humans using radiolabelled or non radiolabelled material.
